1. Understand the jumping ability of rabbits
According to multiple studies, the jumping ability of rabbits varies depending on the breed and size. Ordinary domestic rabbits can usually jump about 3 feet high, while some rabbits with stronger athletic ability may jump higher, even up to 4 feet. Therefore, when designing a fence, you must ensure that its height is high enough to block the rabbit's jump.

2. Choose the right material and structure
Height requirement: The height of the fence should be at least 4 feet (about 1.2 meters) to prevent rabbits from climbing over by jumping. If the rabbit is larger or more active, it is recommended to increase the height to 6 feet (about 1.8 meters).
Material selection: Use strong and durable materials such as metal mesh (1-inch or smaller mesh), galvanized steel wire, or hard plastic. These materials can not only resist the rabbit's jump, but also prevent it from biting through or damaging the fence.
Top design: Installing a slope or obstacle (such as a wooden board or stone) on the top of the fence can further increase the difficulty of the rabbit climbing over. In addition, you can also consider adding a fine mesh (such as a 20 cm wide mesh) to the top to prevent rabbits from climbing.

3. Bottom treatment
Rabbits not only jump, but also dig. To prevent them from drilling out from the bottom, the following measures need to be taken:
Bury underground: bury the bottom of the fence 6 inches (about 15 cm) underground, and make sure the bottom is close to the ground without leaving any gaps.
Tilting outward: Tilt the bottom of the fence outward to form an angle, so that even if the rabbit tries to dig, it will be difficult to succeed due to the angle problem.
Use hardware cloth: Add hardware cloth with a mesh of 1 inch or smaller at the bottom to effectively prevent rabbits from drilling out.

4. Strengthen the stability of the fence
Reinforce the posts: Use posts with a diameter of at least 10 cm and make sure they are firmly fixed to the ground.
Seal the gaps: Check whether the gaps in the fence are less than 1 inch (about 2.5 cm) to prevent rabbits from passing through.
Regular inspection: Regularly check the integrity of the fence to ensure that there is no damage or looseness.

5. Protective measures in special scenarios
Enclose plants: If the pet game fence for rabbit is to protect the garden or plants, additional protective nets or metal shields can be installed around it to prevent rabbits from directly contacting the plants.
Use electric fence: For high-risk areas, consider installing a "hot double" electric fence, that is, installing a layer of low-voltage electric fence at the bottom and top to increase the protective effect.
